If you do put on boots, you can hike past one other lot and very quickly climb up to the summit of Sunrise Peak, from which you can see the lake, pool, the city, the horizon on toward Kansas, but you are unlikely to encounter anyone else on this hike. Crystal Park is the real Colorado with the aspens and sweet-smelling evergreens, sparkling streams, waterrfalls, wildlife, trout-fishing, plus a swimming pool heated to 89 or 90, very romantic in the moonlight.
