This created the need for the curved walls, and other curves were used as appropriate. The walls in the upper level of the house were finished with a thin coat of fine plaster, applied by a specialist from Boston as a favor to the builder. There is also the acknowledgment of the liveliness of the house because of its response to changing light conditions throughout the day and night.
